ABOUT US
Yonder Lea Timber is a family business with their roots firmly in agriculture stemming back to the 1950’s. The sawmill operations were established in 1989 by Ian and Seonaid Stone, manufacturing pallets for the local market.
During the early 2000’s their sons Alastair and David Stone joined the family business and two pole treatment plants were commissioned.
Situated at the foot of the Amathole Mountains with the nearest town being Stutterheim, we deliver pallets and poles within a 300km radius. The transport of our products to further regions of South Africa is outsourced.
Our Timber is predominately sourced from FSC Certified Plantations under good environmental practices as well as on a sustained yield basis.
Our pole products are treated with Permacure CCA that is purchased from Dolphin Bay, a leader in manufacturing wood preservatives. Timber treated with Permacure CCA will have an appealing light green appearance that will fade over time to a platinum grey.
